Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions does Dr. Davis treat?

Dr. Davis specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders—including learning disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and language disorder—and related anxiety and depression. Because cognitive and emotional systems are deeply interconnected, her work addresses the full range of difficulties that are inherent to these diagnoses.

Do I need to have a learning disorder or ADHD to work with Dr. Davis?

No. While Dr. Davis has deep expertise in learning and attention disorders, she works with individuals experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties. A neuropsychologically informed approach—one that considers how brain-based and cognitive systems shape the way a person thinks, feels, and behaves—can be highly effective even for conditions that are not neurodevelopmental in nature, including anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. Understanding the cognitive underpinnings of a person's experience often opens up new and more targeted pathways for treatment, regardless of diagnosis.

Does Dr. Davis work with children only, or does she see adults too?

While much of Dr. Davis's clinical focus is on children and adolescents with learning and developmental challenges, she works across the lifespan. Learning disorders and related difficulties with attention, anxiety, and executive functioning often persist into adulthood, and her neuropsychologically informed approach is equally applicable to adults.

My child has already been evaluated elsewhere. Can Dr. Davis still help?

Yes. If a prior evaluation is available, Dr. Davis can review it and use that information to inform treatment without repeating a full assessment. She frequently collaborates with other clinicians and can help translate existing evaluation reports into a concrete, individualized treatment plan.

Does Dr. Davis accept insurance?

Dr. Davis is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Depending on your plan, your insurer may reimburse a portion of the fee, and Dr. Davis can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company. It is advisable to contact your insurer beforehand to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.

What are Dr. Davis's fees?

Fees vary depending on the type and length of service. Please contact Dr. Davis directly for current fee information. She is happy to discuss what a course of treatment might look like and what that would involve financially before you commit to anything.

Where is Dr. Davis's office located?

Dr. Davis's clinical practice is located at 74 East 79th Street, Suite 1C, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York, NY 10075.

Does Dr. Davis offer telehealth appointments?

Dr. Davis is licensed in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and holds a PSYPACT authority, which allows her to practice via telehealth in PSYPACT-participating states. Please contact her to confirm current telehealth availability and to discuss whether in-person or virtual sessions are the right fit for your particular needs.
